Dear MUN Directors, Student Leaders and Delegates,

It is my honor to invite you all to attend our Shen Wai International School Model United Nations (SWISMUN) Conference 2025, which will be held on January 10th to 12th at the Shen Wai International School campus at 29 Baishi 3rd Road, Nanshan, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.

In 2019, SWIS hosted its first MUN conference with the goal of spreading peace through international diplomacy, in accordance with the core principle of MUN. In the 4 years of the pandemic, further conferences were disrupted until 2024, when the second SWISMUN was held as the first and only conference in Shenzhen with multiple historical committees.  This proved a resounding success, and so SWISMUN 2025 will complete the transition to become an entirely historical conference. At SWISMUN, we believe it is vital that delegates not only familiarize themselves with current events, but also learn from the successes and failures of those that came before. Too often, MUN delegates are focused on modern problems, neglecting the importance of studying history. The present is shaped by the past, which means learning the past is necessary to understand the present and change the future.

SWISMUN adheres to THIMUN style procedures, which will ensure delegates arrive prepared for an engaging and constructive debate, contributing well-researched ideas to the discussion and devising innovative solutions to issues presented. This year, SWISMUN’s theme is “Tracking Diplomacy Through Time”. Over the course of the past century, human civilization faced countless disasters and threats that have threatened its continued existence. In particular, World War II saw an unprecedented upheaval of the global order, contributing to the end of colonialism, the rise of communism across the world and the beginning of the cold war. At SWISMUN 2025, delegates not only have the opportunity to address the aftermath of World War II, but directly work towards preventing it. SWISMUN 2025 features 5 committees, including the Human Rights Council (HRC), World Health Assembly (WHA), Disarmament and International Security Council (DISEC), Security Council (SC) and League of Nations (LON).
